Carl Kleiner's Sweet Sensations

Last year Swedish photographer Carl Kleiner cooked up a storm in the Ikea kitchen with his spiced-up revisit of the humble recipe book, where he gave free rein to his visually innovative destructured interpretation of the recipe concept, with photos alone doing the talking, bringing an end to the perplexity of words, unclear instructions and approximate translations, while proving once and for all that the proof of the pudding is not just in the baking!

Greys from Alcro.

I have previously posted about Swedish's Alcro Paints and the beautiful 'ad.white' visuals they did- see it here. The latest trend report from them is all about greys and it is lovely.
I think stylist Camilla Krishnaswamy has presented the paint colours in both campaigns so beautifully.

Osterlen Table and Chair

Osterlen table and chair designed by Inga Sempe for Garsnas.

Here is a gorgeous ash chair and table duo designed by French designer Inga Sempe for Swedish furniture company, Garsnas. It is called 'Osterlen' - named after the town in southeast Sweden where this furniture is made. I love the simplicity and the well composed U-cuts of these pieces. Emma's Design blog has posted these cool promotional images from a Swedish paint range called Alcro. They are releasing a new collection of white paint hues which is ideal for all the great white Scandinavian interiors that I admire.

Family Chairs from Design House Stockholm

Here are the cool Family Chairs from Design House Stockholm. Designed by Lina Nordqvist, these chairs are based on the traditional Swedish stickback chairs - with a twist. Family Chairs won the Accent on Design Award, New York in August 2009 and are available in natural wood or black lacquered finish. I like how these chairs look good collectively as well as being unique individually.

As an Interior Designer, I have access to many products which I can sell to my clients at better prices than retail. One product that I particularly like is Klippan.
Klippan is a Swedish textile range which promotes traditional techniques and Scandinavian designers to produce gorgeous and quality home products - read about them here.
I have recently purchased some red Bruno Bear cotton chenille baby blankets (images above). They are also available in blue, pink and green.

Inspiration - Swedish Holiday House

I'm not sure if it's my Swedish hertiage or really liking the idea of a holiday (probably both), but doesn't this holiday home in Sweden look just so darn good - inviting you to come in and...relax. Nice.
