Avocado Pesto

Mmmm - avocado, what an amazing and versatile fruit. Great on toast with a sprinkle of S&P and an absolute must have for any sushi lover.

With the incredible heat in Sydney this past week, it's been a real challenge to whip up dinner after work - the last thing you want to do in the 40 degree heat in a non-airconditioned apartment is turn on the stove!

This lovely pesto went perfectly with a simple salad of spinach leaves, roma tomatoes, barbecue chook and spanish onion - and no cooking required!

Finally, the cool change is here. Personally, I'm pretty done with summer!

Avocado Pesto

Ingredients:

1 bunch basil
2 small garlic cloves
1 avocado
salt and pepper to taste
1/3 cup olive oil

Pick just the leaves from the bunch of basil. In a food processor, pulse basil leaves with garlic. Use a stick mixer to puree avocado and basil, garlic mix while slowly adding the oil in a steady stream until the mixture is smooth. Salt and pepper to taste.

Great for leafy summer salads - and works well with cold pasta salads as well.

Goodbye Facebook: Difference in Deactivation and Delete Facebook Account

Posted: 05 Feb 2011 04:23 AM PST

Almost everyone has been infected by the Facebook fever that has gripped the entire world. Such a time has come that people prefer to update their status with what they are up to, rather than tell their friend who called five minutes earlier.

A significant percentage of peoples’ lives each day be it updating their status, sharing photos or videos, getting in touch with their friends or plain old time-pass with games or apps.(Farmville or Cityville anyone?)

The masses are with Facebook, but there are a few others who are really not interested in all the features that Facebook has to offer and are irritated by the constant mails from their friends regarding game invites and status updates.

They had jumped on the Facebook bandwagon along with their friends, but are now regretting it. This article shows you how to deactivate and even delete your Facebook account.

Login your Facebook account.

Go to Account -> Account Settings.

Click on Deactivate.

A new page will open which shows the people who will miss :D you on Facebook. Give your reason for deactivating your account.

Check the box for not receiving any more mails from Facebook and click on Confirm.

Your account has now been deactivated. This is however a superficial measure. Your account is still on Facebook along with all your personal data, it’s just not being used right now. A deactivated account can be reactivated at any time.

If you want a more permanent measure such as deleting your Facebook account, go here.

Click Submit and your account should be deleted in a couple of days.

Corrupt File Generator to Destruct Files and tackle Deadlines

Posted: 03 Feb 2011 12:41 PM PST

I am not so punctual student and often forget to complete assignments and presentations on time. Here is a way to cheat your professor without giving lame excuses for not being able to complete allotted task on time.

Yes, present a corrupted file and blame the computer system or storage device (pen drive) for it rather than confessing that you are lazy to do it who loves to waste time playing or surfing web than completing those boring assignments.

File Destructor is a web application that can generate a corrupt file with desired file name, file size and file extension. This sounds more realistic and file contains nothing but corrupt data, so when you try to open it does not work.

It is fully compatible with Windows and Mac and no additional software needed.

Make sure that file name and size should be such that it should be realistic as it should be with desired extension ofcourse!

Good Luck!
