How to Port Mobile Numbers using Mobile Number Portability in India Posted: 27 Nov 2010 03:45 AM PST The much awaited Mobile number portability (MNP) comes to India with initial launching in Haryana on November 25, 2010. India has been slightly behind in getting this service as the countries like USA, Australia, Pakistan and many others had it from long time. Telecom minister Kapil Sibal unveiled MNP in Haryana and said that it will be available throughout the country by March 2011. Now that MNP has come to India, let us look into details what it is and how to port a mobile number. What is Mobile Number Portability / MNP? Mobile Number Portability allows you to retain your mobile number while changing from one mobile operator to another. For example, it will allow you to facilitate Airtel services on a Vodafone number. How to Port a Mobile Number 1)      You initially have to Send an SMS to 1900 in following format: PORT<space>Mobile Number – eg. PORT 987654321. 2)      Therafter, you will get an SMS reply that contains a unique porting code. 3)      SMS to the preferred operator quoting the unique code. This code is valid only for a few days and you will have to apply again if it expires. 4)      Your existing operator will check with new operator & if there are no dues then approval will be given for porting. 5)      You will get an SMS on the time and date when porting will take place. The process is said to complete after 4 days of applying. 6)      After porting is complete, wait for an SMS from your new operator confirming the switch. 7)      Your phone may be offline for about 2 hours when the porting takes place. It consists of a set of tools to optimize our Windows installation and cleaning performance on and off certain resources leaving the software installed. Starting with the Program, The program interface has been redesigned, and each of the utilities group has its own window and we can see summary of all data in a summary of the 32 options available in Tune Up Utilities 2011. The main impression is undoubtedly the utility called Deactivator Program, which gives us the ability to disable the programs COMPLETELY you have installed in Windows. The advantage of “Deactivation” is that resources and space consuming programs are eliminated as disabled if the program had been uninstalled, so we reduce boot time and improve performance gain. And if we want to run that program again, disable Deactivator and execute it normally. Once you have configured Tune Up and optimized the system, we also have a new tool that will tell us how far we’ve managed to optimize Windows and show us how far we can squeeze more. And if we want to test the effectiveness of program by program, an evaluation function of the applications will tell us how many resources we get if we disable certain system applications. Not just new but also existing features have been enhanced: Turbo mode (used to sacrifice everything possible to accelerate the full system) is now 10 times faster with 70 internal processes that disables the system, whereas before it was only able to turn seven. Thus accelerating the system, the turbo mode is perfect for gamers. The key objective of Tune Up Utilities 2011 is to demonstrate that however much care for our Windows installation, the installation continues to slow down the system and applications, thanks to disable cleaning programs and resources to get it to behave as if it were just installed. The minimum requirements of Tune Up are not very demanding: a computer with Windows XP SP2 or higher, Windows Vista or Windows 7, a 300 MHz processor, 256 MB RAM and 300 MB of disk space. Micromax Andro: First Android 2.1 Mobile Phone from Micromax Posted: 26 Nov 2010 07:39 PM PST We already talked about the launch of Micromax Android Mobile The handset was expected to arrive in Diwali but it somehow it got delayed. It is now expected to come in first week of December. The first Android phone from Micromax is named Micromax Andro featuring v2.1. Now, we can say that the company has finally stepped out of its domain of dual SIM handsets. Micromax Andro Features Micromax Andro is a 2.8 inch resistive touchscreen phone with 3.2MP camera. It is said to have 600MHz microprocessor and also feature WiFi and 3G connectivity. The price of the handset is expected to be around Rs. 8000 mark. If that happens, then it can certainly be called as the cheapest Android phone in the market. However, currently there is no official information about the device. A special bloggers event is getting organized on November 27, where the company will showcase the handset for the first time. Nokia X7-00: 8MP Symbian^3 device with Quad Speakers Posted: 26 Nov 2010 06:44 PM PST Nokia X7-00 is the latest Symbian^3 Mobile Phone to come into picture with a video leak which gave many hints to what the phone features. The processor, RAM and graphics of the device seem to be similar to the likes of Nokia N8. The dimension also seems similar with unusual angular design. Even the screen size seems to be close to 3.8 inch. However, the handset is equipped with a 8MP camera. There is also a 3.5mm audio jack located on the top edge. A microUSB port was also spotted in the video. The handset is also said to have 4 speakers, with one in each corner. Hence, it is  surely going to be a good option for  music lovers. There is no other information about the handset.
