What the team did basically was take blocks of ice, stack them up use heat guns to join them together and then using infrared, optics and some electronics to create the World's first touchscreen made from water/ice. "This was a playful experiment, but one that we think showed interactive computing interfaces can now be built anywhere," says Jyri Huopaniemi at Nokia's research lab in Tampere, whose team built the touchscreen, dubbed Ubice, or ubiquitous ice. Samsung Favouring Windows Phone 7 Over Android

The news article states that Samsung intend to introduce 15-20 smart-phones next year including Windows Phone 7, Android and Bada. But for every 50 phones running Windows Phone 7 it will make 24 Android and 5 Bada smartphones. That means Samsung will be making more than twice the amount of phones with WP7 as compared to Android. Dell To Shut Down Mobile Division

Dell's Mobile Division head Ron Garriques will be resigning from his post on January 28th 2011 and the division will be shut down. He will receive a payment of 1.44 Million US$ and other payments. He will continue to provide Consulting Services to Dell till the end of 2011 for which he will receive an additional 6.3 Million US$. The move does not mean Dell is stopping production or introduction of new smartphones, it's just that the mobile division will be absorbed into the main company. via Slashgear
