Kilkenny Sketching Weekend 17th - 19th Oct

Did a few more than just these but must photo them and stick them up! I think Sarah may even have one or two of mine, but not too sure!! Great weekend all-round :)

Zoo - Sunday 12th

Found it very hard to sketch with all the kids and parents jostling to get a better view, both at the animals and at what was on my page! Couldn't concentrate with it!! Had a great day though, the monkeys were very entertaining to say the least!! Couldn't get a decent sketch as they really don't like to sit still - a window of 5 seconds is all you have to work with!

Chester Beatty - Sunday 21st

Found it impossible to concentrate yesterday but did a few quick sketches. Lovely security man gave me a chair - which was fantastic!!

Hugh Lane Gallery 14th Sept. '08

Really enjoyed today's sketching session, only got two done but like them both. Hadn't done any "people" sketches previously, so it was really nice to see them turn out ok! Found it hard to get proportions right, will definitely be doing more and hope to start attending the Trinity Drawing lessons too when they start up again.


Have included pictures of the originals for reference, quality isn't great as taken on my phone.

Sunday 11th - Stephen's Green

What a beautiful day, the park was teeming with people and full of life. Of course, I didn't notice that I was getting nicely toasted by the sun as I sat sketching! Just did the one sketch, used two different settings on my camera so have uploaded them both. Enjoyed the time yesterday, although I do get fidgety half way through the sketches. Started this one on the right hand side of the page, and half considered finishing it down the centre. Really glad I continued now!
