292 - Demolition finished and digging holes

Demolition completed (photos of the upstairs apartment)

We completed the demolition yesterday. At the end of the day, Dad and I were feeling rather buggered but happy with all the work that we've done. Next, we'll be attending to the windows - cleaning them and prepping them for painting or (good weather permitting) start painting the exterior weatherboards.
You can see that Euan (our builder) has been working on the outside - digging the holes for the retaining wall and the ditch for the new drain.

292 - Demolition

We had a big day yesterday. Architect Dad and I started the demolition of the downstairs flat. The tenant moved out before Christmas so it gave us free reign to get started.

It was all relatively straight forward with the exception of the stubborn floor vinyl in the kitchen and bathroom. The top layers were easy to peel off, however it came down to hard shovel work to get the last brittle layer off. Feeling it today...

We'll be back to it tomorrow to get all the Gib board off the walls and ceilings.

Then repeat the same operation in the upstairs flat the following weekend - the project is going to have a sense of deja vu, isn't it? Do it once and then do it again...
