Microsoft has released an update for windows to support Indian Rupee Symbol. This update is for Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008, Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2.

This update is named as KB2496898 and before going for the update save all your works as it requires restart to take effect on your systems. Update KB2496898 is available for both 32 bit and 64bit systems.

Chrome 11 beta with HTML5 speech input api released

In terms of browser activity, this month has simply been a blast. Every major browser has had a release starting with Chrome 9 final, Chrome 10 stable, Internet explorer 9 and Mozilla Firefox 4. The people at Google have probably been the busiest. In addtion to the final release of Chrome 9 and the stable release of Chrome 10, they have now released a beta version of Chrome 11.

This newest beta release of Chrome comes with quite a few new and introductory features. Notable among them are the HTML5 speech to text API, which allows text entry in the text sections of a webpage and GPU accelerated 3D rendering using CSS(Cascading Style Sheets).

Upload Documents to Online Cloud Storage from Desktop

Sharing and uploading documents online is an important aspect of work nowadays. If you share a lot of documents with friends or store them online for later use then doing these tasks from the browser may be a laborious task.

Performing tasks from desktop is always easier than doing it on web browser. Storage clouds is a free service that allows you to do the same.

With storage clouds you will get two options, either you can use the desktop client to upload files or use it as add-on to Office 2010. It allows you to upload or access files in Skydrive, Facebook Docs, Google Docs, DropBox, Box.net and share files on Twitter and Slideshare.net.

It is extremely easy to use with interactive user interface. Only thing you need to do is select files and the service you want to upload to. You have to log in to service site and allow access to storage clouds.

Using the Office add-on is simple and the video below demonstrates it.

Watching YouTube videos is a common thing that do. Sometimes it is noticeable that every video that you watch is not interesting from the very beginning. Some have introductory part that you may want to skip or want your fring to start viewing the video from from the time you want.

This can be done with a online service YouTube Time and few simple steps.

Get URL of the Video you want to play or share with friends. for example http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tL-swWYKbhw.
Now go to YouTube Time.

Paste the URL you have got and set a time to start the video from. Once you are done click on get the modified URL. You can now share it with friends so that they can play from a specific time skipping the boring part.

How To Hide Specific Photos and Videos From Android Gallery

Many of us, or I must say, almost all of us have images and videos on our Android devices, we want hidden from other people. By default there is no option to exclude a specific folder from gallery, you can password protect your files using some application from the market but none comes with out a hefty price tag.

Yesterday night I was doing some research on my Samsung Galaxy S and got a superb idea as to how you can hide a folder from Gallery and stock file manager. The application used in this process is free to download from market.

As stock File Manager for Android is not adequate to do the trick, download and Install Astro File Manager from market. The application is free to download and use.
Now select the Folder you want to hide from the gallery and long press on it. Suggest to create a new folder and later import all your private data in it.
On the File Options popup menu, tap on edit and select rename.
While renaming just put a period(.) in front of the folder and confirm.
From now on that folder will be treated as system folder and will be hidden from your Gallery and stock File manager.
Now just import all your private files and folders into that folder using Astro File Manager and live a tension free life.
