Password Protect Google Chrome Browser with Simple Startup Password

If you want to dig the history of a person, dig the history of his web browser and you will know what kind of person he or she is. All the data in a browser like saved passwords, bookmarks, history are very confidential stuffs and any unauthorized access to these can be fatal. If you are a chrome user you can now safeguard your data by protecting it with a password using Simple Startup Password extension.

Simple Startup Password  is a very simple plugin that protect your browser with startup password.

Soon after you install the extension navigate to to Settings -> Tools –>Extensions and look for Simple Startup Password . To setup the password click on option. Set a password for your browser but make sure you type in correct password before hitting enter because there is no field to re-enter the password.

Now each time you open Google Chrome you will be asked to authenticate yourself. If you fail to provide the password the browser will close. There is no way in which you can recover the password and thus by any chance you forget your password you will have to reinstall it.

Limitation

You need to be very sure before you set your password as there is no way you can check whether you have typed in correctly.
If you forgot your password by any chance there is no way you can recover it and you will have to reinstall your browser.
The password field is not masked and any one sitting with you will be able to see the password.
If you are quick enough you will be able to press the bookmark button and see all the bookmarks before the plugin loads.

LG Optimus Black: 4 inch Slimmest Touchscreen Android Mobile with NOVA Display

Remember, previously we mentioned about an affordable LG Optimus GT540. Now, LG has further expanded its Optimus series with a slim and stylish device known as LG Optimus Black. The handset got announced in recently concluded CES 2011.

The device is so slim that for the first time when I saw, I got confused with Apple`s iPhone. It is supposed to be world`s slimmest device, having a thickness of just 9.2mm. Moreover, it boasts of its NOVA touchscreen display which provides more clarity than any other display even under strong sunlight. Using this technology, there is 50 % less consumption of power as well. Optimus Black runs on Android 2.2 ( Froyo) but will soon get an update of version 2.3.

At CES 2011, according to Dr. Jong-seok Park, President and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company,

LG Optimus Black reflects our core strengths of advanced technology, in both display and design, offering the world's brightest screen and the world's slimmest design in an attractive and smart package.

Another thing worth mentioning is its Optimus UI 2.0, which allows users to directly access messages, emails and missed calls from locked screen with just one tap. The gesture UI allows users to lift, shake or tap for receiving calls, entering camera mode or multimedia mode.

LG Optimus Black Price and Availability India

The price and the date of launch of Optimus Black have not yet been announced. Currently it is said that the device will get launched globally in first half of 2011.

With Fare meter being mandatory in Auto Rickshaw in more and more cities, sometimes Traveler is charged more because of faulty devices. Tuk Tuk Meter is GPS based Mobile application developed to calculate Fair Fare of Auto Rickshaw in India.

Tuk Tuk Meter is multi platform Mobile application which uses Global Positioning system to calculate real time distance travelled in Kilometers and as per the Fare amount set, you get the accurate amount to be paid.

Application is independent of Internet connection and performs even in Remote areas. You can run it alongwith the Rickshaw meter to compare fares.

Working is simple, you just need to tap Start Button at the beginning of Journey and tap again to Stop. That’s it, Fare will be calculated so that you can double check with the Real meter.

In settings, you can change the fix amount to be paid and Charges per Kilometer as per rules.

My Verdict:

Customer will not be again in Bargaining position and prevent them for looting but on other side, you should know the fixed charges in order to get exact amount.

By the word Fare calculator, I was expecting that Application is pre programmed to get Fare of Distance between two points marked on Maps. But, you need to know the per kilometer charges and set them to get accuracy which is difficult to know in new city.

On other hand, when you know the charges/km in your city, you don’t need app to calculate as you must be familiar with charges incurred.

All in all, it is a nice initiative and application of GPS using Intuitive path calculation algorithm to trace the journey route.
