GrooveWalrus Music Player can play Songs from Last.fm and Grooveshark

It Seems Today, that online music streaming trend is becoming increasingly popular and That is why I am sharing an application that exploits the Service Offered by famous Grooveshark.

The software I am talking about is Called GrooveWalrus and that is a standalone music player offers support for the two Most popular online music services: Last.fm and Grooveshark.

Grooveshark and Last FM Player

Although many users are able to maintain multiple profiles simultaneously active in more services, GrooveWalrus centralizes these functions in addition to a wide range of controls for playing media files.

The search for the flight of the audio tracks are perfectly integrated and that allows users to populate their own playlists quickly.

Thanks also to the ability to manage the system offered by Last.fm scrobbling, GrooveWalrus does not limit the user account management and all functions related to it, including all the profile settings.

The application itself is fully extensible and is designed to use some interesting plug-ins such as Flash to play music from Dizzler and Grooveshark; “Lyrics” to see the lyrics while playing and the plugin Web Remote to allow control remotely via the web.

Also, you can add Local Music collection to the playlist and many more options to explore which you will discover upon installation.

It seems that the term ‘Galaxy’ makes a huge impact on the customers. Earlier this week we saw Galaxy 551, yesterday regarding some leaked specifications of Galaxy S Mini and now simply Galaxy Mini (S5570). The device runs on Android 2.2 and is expected to be showcased in MWC 2011.

Samsung-Galaxy-Mini-S5570

Galaxy Mini is a 3.2 inch touchscreen  device, which comes with TouchWiz UI, 3G, WiFI, GPRS and bluetooth connectivity. The handset will also have a 3.2MP camera, 3.5 mm audio jack and expandable memory option of up to 32GB.

Apart from the OS being Android 2.2, the device will also be accompanied with Java support.

The details regarding its price and availability can be exactly told only after its announcement at MWC 2011.  As there is nothing  much spectacular about this Android handset, I feel that its price will not be on the higher side, may be somewhat closer to that of Galaxy 5. Stay tuned with Blogsolute for more updates on this handset.

No More UAC Prompts on opening Program with Elevated Shortcuts

Posted: 15 Jan 2011 11:22 PM PST

User Account Control aka UAC which prompts on opening of several programs on Windows 7 and Vista asking for permission to execute application. This is irritating most of the times as we trust some specific applications.

It is possible to disable UAC prompt on trusted windows application not by default but by using external software. I have already shared UAC trust shortcut which does same thing but problem is it has to run always in background to disable UAC.

Elevated Shortcuts

However, the program I am sharing Elevated shortcut does as it name suggests. It creates a shortcut for the program which is actually targeted to a Windows task. So, you don’t have to keep running this application in background.

It is in fact a recent free software that easily and quickly allow you to run programs and applications with administrator privileges without having to see, time after time, the annoying screen for UAC, as long as you’re using Windows 7.

To take advantage of the functionality of the application simply run it and select New Shortcut command to create a new shortcut by which to perform one or more selected applications without having to go through the UAC.

If not new then you can elevate or modify existing shortcut or remove existing shortcuts.

Note that, if appropriate, may also be used ElevatedShortcut working directly from the Shift + context menu.
