How to Batch Edit and Tweak PDF Files

Posted: 20 Dec 2010 10:14 PM PST

Whenever we work with documents we mostly deal with PDF files. At times we may require to add or remove features from these files according to our needs.

These features may include merging various pdf files into one single pdf file, adding watermark to pages, encrypting with user password etc.

jPDF Tweak is a freeware java based application for windows to edit and tweak pdf files. It has a simple tabbed interface providing features to work with.

With this application you can edit or tweak a single pdf file or batch operate on them. Manipulating Pages i.e rotating and scaling can be easily done.

You can create printable booklets with watermarks on them. Watermarks can be selected only as text, the position on which it is to be applied can be selected manually to get exact results.

encrypt pdf files with password

jPDF Tweak also allows you to change page numbers, add attachments to pdf files and making them secure by adding permissions, signature and password.

Before you can run the application to apply selected changes you have to mention a output file name in the output tab with .pdf extension. This file will be saved in the default folder of the application.

My Verdict: This is a light weight application and require java runtime 5 or higher to be pre-installed. It is a portable application and the features it bundles are extremely useful which most of other freeware applications do not provide in a single package.
