TRAI issues new Regulations for Unsolicited Tele-Marketing Calls and SMS in India

Are you fedup of those Unsolicited Telemarketing calls or SMS spam? TRAI ( Telecom  Regulatory Authority on India) has issued some new regulations which come into effect from Jan 1 , 2011. They have imposed strict regulations for Tele-marketers and heavy fines for those who violate the rules. The report also states that unsolicited calls have gone down since the previous regulation but unsolicited SMS is on the rise. The new rules go a step  beyond the Do Not Disturb registry and you can enroll yourself under a Fully Blocked category or Partially blocked category if you wish to receive marketing calls for a certain industry. Here is what you need to do to enroll Customer registration will be effective within seven days of registration unlike in the past when it used to be 45 days. The customer can register by ringing up 1909 or sending SMS to 1909. This service will be toll free and the customer will be given a Registration number. Verizon launching 4G LTE on December 5th in USA, upto 12Mbps Download speeds

Verizon has officially announced today that they will be launching the Long Term Evolution (LTE) in USA on December 5th, covering 38 cities and 60 airports. Verizon promised that LTE will be available all over the USA by 2013. Verizon is also launching some devices on December 5th, but unfortunately it's not a phone. Upon launch, Verizon will launch two USB data-sticks, LG VL600 and Pantech UML290. Users will be able to get USB data-sticks for $99 with 2-year contract and $50 mail-in-rebate. Verizon is offering two types of data plans. Have a look: $50 monthly plan with a 5GB data allowance $80 monthly plan with a 10GB monthly allowance If you cross your data allowance limit, then Verizon will charge you $10 per gigabyte. If we talk about speed, then you will get 5 to 12Mbps on the downlink and 2 to 5 Mbps on the uplink. Verizon has announced that they will launch LTE-enable devices during the CES 2011, so hopefully we will see the HTC Merge and LG LTE phone there. Motorola Milestone XT720 Review

Here is the FoneArena Motorola Milestone XT720 Review At a time when Motorola was dying, a device they introduced brought back life into the company. The device was the MILESTONE or the DROID as it's known in the USA. Motorola found this the perfect opportunity to get maximum sales and so they released a number of Android devices many of which included the MILESTONE/DROID badge such as the MILESTONE/DROID 2, DROID X/EXTREME/SHADOW and the MILESTONE XT720 which we are reviewing today. The MILESTONE XT720 is the direct upgrade to the XT710 which was released after the original MILESTONE. The form factor and most other features and specifications remain same but there are a few upgrades. The camera unit has received a bump from 5 Megapixel to 8 Megapixel, the Gorilla glass screen, the video recording resolution has been increased from D1(720*480 pixels) to HD 720p (1280*720 pixels) , the slightly lesser battery capacity and the processor clock speed has been increased from 600 MHz to 720 Mhz. Here are some first pics of the Micromax Android phone called the Andro A60. It's very attractively priced like we saw yesterday . Micromax want's it to be your first Android Phone . Do you want it buy one ? Check out the photos below to find out if you will like it . This is the retail box which the handset comes in . As you can see it runs on Android 2.1. We are not sure if the hardware specs permit an upgrade to FroYo. It has a 3.2 MP Camera without flash. There is also a Android bot on the rear . Although it may be a re-branded ZTE handset  it is the cheapest Android handset available in India. What do you think about the Andro ?
