Posted: 21 Nov 2010 07:12 AM PST

SmartTouch is an application which allows you to control your computer through your phone via Bluetooth. You just need a computer with Bluetooth and a S60 5th Edition phone and you are all ready to go. Here’s how you can do it following simple steps

This is perhaps the first of its kind program for a platform with a touchscreen. You can control the computer in 3 modes.

  • Music Controller -

In this mode you can control any player on your computer. You can see a music player like layout with buttons like “play / pause”, “next”, “prev”, “mute” and volume keys. This is very helpful if your away from your PC or laptop other some work and the music is playing.

  • TouchPad (Mouse) -

This mode has keys like “Up”, “Down”, “Left”, “Right”, “Esc” and “Enter”. These can be used for controls in a games, but still does not work with all games as limited key and no customization.

  • Keys Mode -

Similar to a touchpad (also trackpad) of a laptop you can control the mouse of the computer to which you are connected. This is great while surfing the Internet or as a pointer and pen during presentations.

Aircel to launch 3G services in January- February 2011

Posted: 21 Nov 2010 05:52 AM PST

Why would Aircel stay behind when its competitors are on the process of launching 3G services. Yes, Now even Aircel has announced the availability of 3G services by January- February 2011 in 140 cities across 13 telecom circles in India.

Aircel-3G

The regions include  Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Assam, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh (East), Jammu & Kashmir, Bihar, Orissa, Kolkata, West Bengal and North East. The company will make an investment of $500 million for 3G services. Side by side, Aircel is also planning to expand its 2G network across country. For this, it would invest another $500 million.

Reliance, Airtel and Idea are set to launch 3G services by the year end while Vodafone  would launch in early 2011.  Currently, we have only BSNL and Docomo manipulating the minds of the people in terms of high tariff rates. But, I hope the scenario is soon going to be changed with all the top telecom operators of India providing 3G services.
