Panelists, including experts of both science and religion, presented studies on the origins and stimulants of compassion, compassion meditation practices and the relevance of compassion meditation to health. As several introductory speakers alluded to, the four-hour conference, spread across two sessions, drew on both science and contemplative theory — embracing the same collaborative spirit embodied in the Emory-Tibet Science Initiative (ETSI).
