Ian Schrager's Penthouse at 40 Bond

A partial interior/exterior view of Ian Schrager's glass pavilion on the roof of his penthouse, looking out to the New York skyline.
The library.
The pavilion on the roof at night.
The corridor along the south-facing wall of windows in the apartment.
Schrager's desk - with two early Picasso drawings.
The lounge area of the master bathroom, with the shower door open.
Wow - talk about having the best of the best...
This is 40 Bond - an elegant building in New York designed by the innovative Herzog and de Meuron. It is their first building in New York and it houses luxury residences and townhouses. Developer Ian Schrager liked the building so much that he decided to keep the penthouse and have John Pawson design the apartment for him and his family. The penthouse was extended by Pawson with a glass pavilion located on the roof. Then to finish it off, Schrager brought in Christian Liaigre to do the interior design. I call these three architects and designers the ultimate dream team and obviously so does Ian Schrager. Talk about perfection and precision. Astonishing.
