Minipad2
Minipad2 integrates all the useful functions like text editor, calculator, reminder, dictionary, text template and clipboard-enhancement. The content is saved in a single text file and automatically restored to the last state when re-opened.
It can be set to start with Windows. The memory take-up is minimal. Minipad2 is a single-exe green software. It can be directly used when unzipped to a random directory without installation. It adds no key to the system registry. The 758 KB minipad2.zip ( includes a tiny dictionary to support english-chinese two-way translation ) can be downloaded at http://www.nebulasoft.cn/minipad2/downloads/minipad2.zip
Recuva
This is the latest version of Recuva (pronounced "recover"), a freeware Windows utility to restore files that have been accidentally deleted. The deleted files can include those emptied from the Recycle bin as well as images and other files that have been deleted by user error (from digital camera memory cards or MP3 players).
It can even even bring back files that have been deleted by bugs, crashes and viruses, claim its developers. Recuva is out of the beta testing phase. So you can now download the final release of its version v1.11.257, for Win98 / Win ME / Win2K / Win XP / Vista, either at http://www.recuva.com/download/downloading or http://www.recuva.com/download/downloadbin.
USB Disk Ejector
USB Disk Ejector lets you quickly remove USB devices in Windows. It can be run as a command line program or a GUI program. It was originally designed to remove only USB pen drives but can eject any USB device.
When run as a 'normal' GUI program, the tool enables USB devices to be quickly ejected through a mouse click or keyboard press. It's especially useful when dealing with multiple USB devices and for Vista users who don't want the 'now safe to remove this device' dialog box to appear. The 497 KB USB Disk Ejector v1.1 for WinXP / Vista can be downloaded at http://quick.mixnmojo.com/downloads?download=USBDiskEjector1.1.zip
Audiobook Cutter
Audiobook Cutter can split large MP3 audiobook files into smaller ones without re-encoding. The split points are determined automatically based on silence detection.
The split files are easier to use on mobile MP3 players because of their smaller size, and their duration allows smoother navigation.
Using Audiobook Cutter analogue recordings of speech or long podcasts can be better managed. For visually impaired users, Audiobook Cutter supports screen readers and screen magnifiers. Audiobook Cutter not only cuts files to reasonable lengths but also lets the change of the clip name to sequential numbers. You can also prefix the numbers with your own code. You can also load several CDs and change them all simultaneously. Audiobook Cutter is a free software, licensed under the terms of the GNU General Public License, which, among other things, means that the source code is available to the public.
There are two versions — the 889 KB (zip) AudiobookCutter v. 0.7.4 for Windows 2000, XP and Vista at http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/audiobookcutter/AudiobookCutter-0_7_4.zip and the 811 KB (zip) AudiobookCutter for Win9x 0.5.6 for Windows 95,98, ME and NT at http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/audiobookcutter/AudiobookCutterWin9x-0_5_6.zip
